About ProTrace
A more useful starting point than a noisy outline filter.
ProTrace is made by Valient Industries for artists and creators working from reference. It turns images into customizable line-art directions so the artist can spend more attention on the decisions that make the work their own.
What we are building
Ordinary threshold and edge-detection tools can produce a lot of line information without much judgment about which information is useful. ProTrace is built around creative control: direct the detail, inspect the result, and continue in your own workflow.
Choose the model for the stencil
Not every stencil needs the most advanced model. Try a lower-credit model for simple shapes and clean, simplified outlines, and use a more advanced model when you want to explore elaborate details.
Compare model options and their credit costs in Settings. Choosing a model that suits the job can help your credits go further.
Start with a clear reference
Better stencils start with clearer references. Choose a sharp image where the details you want to trace are visible. Crop away distractions and use the Image Editor to adjust brightness and contrast before generating.
An advanced model can’t reliably recover details hidden by blur, deep shadows, or low resolution.
Use it thoughtfully
Generated output is interpretive and may contain inaccuracies. Review every result before publishing, printing, selling, or relying on it. Read the Terms of Service for the service details.
